The Staff and Members of FCTO extend a special thank you to all who contribute their time and energy to Tax Talk.  Without you we would not be kept current on the news through articles which come to us throughout the country on issues in our towns, state, Washington and beyond.  You are the true crusaders as you strive to reform government to improve our quality of life and preserve our freedoms.   In solidarity we will succeed as we continue our struggle against excessive taxation, a trampling on our property rights, and corruption which has permeated government.  Our hat is off to you, the taxpayer, as you transform from victim to victor!

Welcome to Tax Talk 97

Proposed S. B. No. 86 Proposed Bill [pdf] AN ACT ESTABLISHING STANDARDS FOR EARLY IMMUNIZATION AGAINST HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS.

H. B. No. 6977 Raised Bill [pdf]   AN ACT CONCERNING PREVENTION STRATEGIES FOR DISEASES CAUSED BY HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS.

Important Message from FCTO President, Susan Kniep:  Note that this meeting has been rescheduled to Feb 21 from last week.  Drug maker Merck is bankrolling efforts to have all young girls in this country vaccinated with a drug which The American College of Pediatricians has taken a position against. This Bill is coming up in Connecticut’s State Legislature on February 21 as well as legislatures throughout the country.   Refer to Tax Talk 96 to read what I have issued to the initial sponsor of the Connecticut Bill who is a State Rep and also the Treasurer of a nonprofit being bankrolled by Merck.  My primary question to the sponsor of the Bill and Merck is can you guarantee that the HPV vaccine will have no impact upon a woman’s reproductive system now or in the future?     Should this drug impact reproductive systems in any way the ultimate effect could be catastrophic on us as a nation once all young women in the country are forced to be vaccinated.  Please refer to Tax Talk 96 for further information on this bill.  http://ctact.org/default.asp?callcontent=yes&filename=TaxTalk96Web.htm%20%20%20&location=Home&buttonname=Home

Contact your legislators and members of the Public Health Committee and tell them to vote NO on this bill.  The following website will help you in locating your legislator: http://www.cga.ct.gov/maps/townlist.asp and

A message from Judy Aron  imjfaron@sbcglobal.net  of the West Hartford Taxpayers Association on the HPV Vaccine.  Visit Judy’s website at  http://yedies.blogspot.com/

From Judy:  Now's your chance to speak out against the HPV vaccine being made mandatory to sixth grade girls in CT.  If you are planning on commenting on this bill please get you testimony written and sent in. Public Health Committee contact: Phone: 860-240-0560   Fax: 860-240-5306   Michigan, Maryland and Utah have already rejected this and the citizens in Texas are rejecting Gov. Perry's mandated executive order!    Let's show the same wisdom in CT.    This vaccine has too many unknowns, hasn't been tested very long, and already has been shown to have terrible adverse reactions reported.   It's unclear how long the vaccine works for, whether booster shots are needed, and whether it will affect our daughters' ability to have healthy children.  It's also unclear if this will result in stronger strains of HPV, or if it will adversely affect our daughters' immune systems.

Too much is unknown and unanswered to make this mandatory here in CT.

THANK YOU!

State Representative Arthur O’Neill http://www.housegop.ct.gov/members/oneill.asp

For taking the initial step for property tax relief and other proposals to safeguard the interests of Connecticut taxpayers and property owners!

A special thank you to Theresa McGrath face0203@comcast.net who initiated the proposal and was recently featured in the Hartford Advocate for her work on Property Tax Reform and Proposition 2 ½.

The following is what is being proposed by State Rep O’Neill.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:  That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to allow a municipality to enact, by referendum, a municipal property tax freeze program that limits the amount of tax that the municipality can raise to no more than two and-one-half per cent of the total value of all taxable real and personal property located in the municipality.

Are you concerned that two U.S. Border Patrol agents now sit in prison while the drug smuggler they were attempting to apprehend receives immunity from prosecution from our own government not for one felony but for two.  The old adage, Crime Pays, certainly applies here as  the drug smuggler “whose dream of a better life in America was based on how many illegal drugs he could smuggle into it, now awaits a $5 million payday from a lawsuit against the feds who twice granted him immunity.”  Take the time to click on the following and read what has become a harsh realization for all Border Patrol agents charged with protecting our safety.
